Shady Chicks

Feb 13, 2009   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

I’ve had wayyyy too much coffee for a Saturday afternoon and I’m super wired. I’m home, laying out on my balcony getting some sun and I started thinking about something I went through last month. I found out one of my girlfriends did something super shady and didn’t have the balls to tell me what was up. I can’t get into details because too many people read this blog but what I can say is that when you do something fuc**d up you should just own up to it. It shows you have character.  It’s hard to respect someone who lacks character.

I wrote in an earlier blog that I’ve always felt like one of the guys. I never have many girlfriends because this kind of thing happens a lot.  I seem to have all my relationships with girls fizzle out because they do some bullsh*t and can’t be trusted. Is this a common trait amongst females? Why do girls have less integrity than men? This really baffles me. I mean I’m not saying all men have integrity, there’s a lot of punks out there too, but it seems to me that the vast majority of women have similar stories. Are chicks like this cause they’re so insecure that when they do stupid shit they don’t want to be judged so they don’t tell anyone? They just let shit hit the fan and will deal with the drama when it comes? Well I don’t like drama, so when I see the bs coming my way I just cut people off.

I never go through this crap with my boys. We just chill and have a good time and if sh*t needs to be said we just tell it like it is and get on with our lives. ALL relationships should be like this. The world would be a better place. That’s just my humble opinion.

Anyway, do you guys have the same issues with your girlfriends? And do you have any advice for me or is this just what I should expect?

Your girl,
Chaise

Random Things About Me

Feb 3, 2009   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

It’s a beautiful day here in Miami, not a cloud in the sky and a wonderful 68°. Unfortunately I’m stuck at home, sick. Booooo! I’m sooo bored. So I figured I’d blab some nonsense..share something with you that you might not know about me. Where should I start….hmmm.

I bite my nails, it’s a terrible habit. I’m super OCD. I love animals. I get bored easily. I’m 5’8. I have a brother and 2 sisters. I like girls. I did tons of drugs when I was 16. I’m a good girl now though ;-) . I hate shopping. I don’t watch TV. I LOVE pizza. My parents migrated from Cuba just before I was born. I live on an island. My mind wanders a lot. I love movies. I started modeling when I was 14. I later posed for Playboy on several occasions. I don’t like wearing make up. My favorite subject is Psychology. I care about the environment. I hate cigarettes. I’m a very motivated person. Oh did I mention I’m A.D.D. too? I don’t tolerate lies, I can handle the truth. I have a DUI, bad girl! I enjoy cooking. I eat healthy and workout 85% of the time, not today though cuz I’m sick…I ordered pizza earlier, hehehe. I love laying out at the beach. I adore my little doggy, she’ s a Yorkie and weighs 5lb’s. She goes with me to the beach sometimes. I like reading, but don’t do it as much as I would like. I have serious issues with authority and don’t like to be told what to do. Oh yayyy my food is here! Off to munch.

xoxo

Smart AND Female?

Feb 2, 2009   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

Why is it so hard to make real girlfriends? I’ve always been kinda tomboy-ish, personality wise that is, and it’s always been easier to just be one of the guys. Guys don’t sensor shit and I like that. Girls on the other hand tend to be sensitive and moody and I’m just not into dealing with that. But there have to be other girls like me, right? Girls who are tough, blunt, smart…not just the kind that talks about where they got their shoes or how much they’re dress cost…is this supposed to be interesting? OMFG!!! Spare me please. Where’s the content, the substance? Jesus!

I think it’s just a vicious cycle…guys want the hot chick and so all the chicks wanna be hot and consume themselves with this goal. Now, i’m not saying this is a fruitless exercise, but why stop there? There’s nothing a guy finds hotter than a beautiful girl who can hold a conversation. So why do so few chicks put the effort into this department? And for those that do have something to say, that can hold their own, where the f**k are you? lol I’m going to have to hold a casting call for hot, smart chicks in Miami. How many girls do you think would show up?

If you’re out there, hit me up!

Being Real

Jan 6, 2009   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

I have this fascination with people who are real. People who are just comfortable in there own skin, who don’t allow their ego or pride to take over the way they behave.

What does it even mean to be real? I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and have come to the realization that this simple question has decided many things in my life. Like who I’m friends with or where I spend my time. Why exactly is this so important to me, I have no idea. Maybe I’m just not good at faking it, or is it just that I prefer not to? I’m not quite sure, but I really don’t see the value in hanging out with people or being somewhere where I can’t be myself, and on the same token it’s important to me that the people around me are unfeigned (cool word, means absence of pretense…lol). ;-)

Anyway, so how do I define real? Well, sometimes you just meet someone who you can tell is really just…authentic. Where there’s no bulls**t between you. You can just be. I think that’s why I like the creative process and creative people, because in order to make good art, everyone involved has to just put down their pride and just spill out all their thoughts and ideas without being concerned about people judging them. I think that we should always say what’s on our mind, no matter what the circumstances are. The world would be such a better place!! So why is it that these people are so few and far in between? I guess cause it takes a lot of courage and strength to be real.

And I understand that some people feel there are etiquette or morals to uphold but f*** that. Who cares if you “shouldn’t” say this or “shouldn’t” talk about that. Who made up those “rules” anyway? I mean, why be SO concerned about what other people think of you that you say things and act like someone you’re not. What’s the point..? For people to like or accept some fake version of you…? I’ll never understand that.

So maybe I’m crazy, I dunno. I just felt the need to let this out. Any thoughts?

Gotta Love Apple!!

Dec 12, 2008   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

Ok, so something terrible happened last week…my damn macbook air broke! The screen just went all the way back and the hinge cracked! I took it to apple and they were like umm it’s gunna be $800 to fix and it’s gunna take like 2 weeks!!! OMG!!! I was absolutely devastated!!! ;-(

Anyway, it was still working so I just took it home (cuz there’s no way I can go 2 weeks without a computer) but the screen just didn’t stay up so I just had to keep something behind it so it wouldn’t fall back and get worse. Real bootleg huh? lol. So I made another appointment at apple, this time at the South Beach location, maybe they’d be a little more slack with me there. I got all dolled up and played the innocent blonde and what do ya know, they gave me a brand new one!!!! OMG I love love love apple!!! I had already had the air for 10 months and they still gave me a new one. Wasn’t that so f**king cool of them?

So needless to say I was soooooooo happy I had to share, ;-)

P.S. always buy mac! hahaa!

Love,

Politics & Deception

Dec 8, 2008   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

Today I’d like to discuss the startling fact that it is absolutely legal for political campaigns to run false ads. I’m curious why there isn’t an outrage about this in our country…but I assume we can attribute this to the fact that not many people actually know this.

In our country, there is no law that protects us against candidates who are running for public office that deliberately lie in their ads. In fact, the stations that air them can’t censor the ads or tell you that they may be false. I would think it would be illegal to blatantly lie to the american people about these kinds of things, even if only for the presidential campaigns, just as it is illegal to falsely advertise products – which is enforced by the truth-in-advertising laws. But no, there is no such law, no such protection. Their stance is that one, it would violate free speech, and two, that it is the people’s responsibility to inform themselves and seek out the truth.

The problem is, most people think that by watching the news and paying attention to these ads, that they are keeping themselves informed. Unfortunately they are just getting, believing and repeating false and misleading information. So how exactly are we, the people, supposed to make the right decision when everything being presented to us is totally warped? That’s like going to court and BOTH the plaintiff and defendant’s attorney’s are lying, deliberately, to the the jury. Is the jury actually expected to come to a fair verdict?

My Need for Privacy

Oct 28, 2008   //   by Chaise Candie   //   Blog  //

Hey everyone! Hope that all is well and that you enjoyed yourself this weekend. I wanted to stop to wish my best friend Biz a happy birthday one last time. You’re almost at the BIG “three o” baby!! But don’t worry, the good thing is that we’re all aging simultaneously!! ;-)

I decided to post a blog entry today about my lack of blog entries, go figure. So, most of you that know me from way back know that I kept a website with updated pictures and a public journal, which I did all the way through 2004. I never minded exposing myself, in fact, I enjoyed it. Keeping an up to date journal about my life and the experiences I was having was so much fun and very important to me, but then I just stopped.

I stopped writing, I stopped posting new pictures, I basically stopped staying in touch. I’m not quite sure what the reason was, but I suspect I felt the need for some privacy. I didn’t even notice myself retreating, yet I find myself years later virtually disconnected. I’ve sort of gotten used to going about my life and just keeping to myself. Now, I can’t say that it wasn’t much needed time, but something keeps telling me that it’s time to plug back in. To just say what I want and share my life with people again. Maybe that’s wierd but I just feel like that’s what I’m supposed to do.

So in the spirit of sharing I added two new pictures today, posted this blog and I’m almost ready to post my demo. I’m finalizing it now and it should definitely be up within the next week or so. We have 4 brand new songs and a slightly different sound. I’m really really excited about it and can’t wait to hear what you all think.

Anyway, I’m off to bed. It was truly a pleasure speaking my mind and I hope to hear from some old friends!
